Merry Christmas Giveaway

winner-chosen

Christmas? Wait…it’s not even Thanksgiving yet! Well, Thanksgiving is a little over a week away and since it’s so late in the month, Christmas will be here before we know it. So that’s why I’m giving away three copies of The Christmas Sleigh, which includes my Paradise Christmas novella, A Mamm for Christmas as well as two more great holiday stories from Molly Jebber and Kelly Long. Let’s get into the Christmas spirit!

kish-valley-5-mkd-wmBut wait! There’s more! If you are chosen as one of the winners, then I’ll send you a second copy for you to gift to a friend! Yep, you read that right. One signed copy for you and another one to give to a friend.

So what do you have to do in order to qualify for the giveaway? Head over to my page dedicated to Kish Valley (aka Big Valley) and tell me what your favorite picture is there. Be sure to stay for the entire slide show. There are a few pictures of the infamous yellow buggies of the Valley.

The three winners will be chosen by random drawing at the end of each week (We’ll actually draw on Sunday and announce the winners on Monday morning.)

If you don’t win the first week, never fear, I’m giving away the three-plus three copies each week from now until Christmas. That’s 18 chances to win!

So go check out the pictures and leave me a comment as to which is your favorite. Thanks for stopping by, Merry (early) Christmas, and the best of luck to everyone!

How do you get to the page? Simply click All Things Amish<Amish Photos<The Amish of PA Kish Valley< Kish Valley part 1.

And feel free to poke around a little. There are a lot of great things to see here!

    1. Loved them all…but mostly love the pics with barns and outbuildings and the phone shanty!! I take TONS of pics just like those on my Amish-adventures, because I just love the lines and shapes of the buildings and roofs against the backdrops of beautiful Amish Country areas!

    1. The yellow buggies were so fun to watch! We actually talked to a man who was a ‘yellow topper.’ He acted like it was no big deal that they had different color buggies, but it was so interesting to us. I’ll be blogging about the different color buggies and what they mean later in this contest. Thanks for coming by!

  7. Wow, Amy! So many great pictures that it’s difficult to narrow down a choice. However, I have 2 favorites. The first is the homemade cow crossing sign. Too cute! The second is the pink spotted nosed cow that seems to have been looking directly at the camera, almost as if it knew it should pose for you. Loved it!

  17. I am always amazed by the “yellow toppers”. We live just a county away and our Amish don’t use these. Your pictures were all great. We have been to many of these places…..but, my absolute favorite is Peight’s Country Store. The ladies there are so sweet and always ask me to bring pictures of what I make from their craft supplies. Purple Martin Bake Shop is also a favorite place to stop for left-over discounted bake goods from the Belleville Market. We have also become friendly with a woman on Rockville Road who bakes and grows vegetables. What a wonderful community you have captured. Thanks Amy!!

  18. Hmm, do I have to pick just one. I love the one with the six yellow buggies parked altogether because I have never seen the yellow buggies before. My second favorite is just a picture of the hilly road. It reminded me when we went to visit my uncles farm in Ohio.

  19. Loved all the pictures….the pictures overlooking the valley are my favorite ones. Found it interesting the one way sign () with arrows going the “wrong” way under the one way sign. Seems strange seeing yellow buggies instead of the black buggies I am used to seeing.

  20. Wow! So many great pictures! I like the photos of the open land a lot, but my favorite has to be the one that has a sign that says “Quilts” and “Closed Sundays”. I love quilts and love it when Sunday is a day of rest. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the book. I have several friends that would love the other copy if I’m blessed to win.

    1. Thanks, Vickie! The quilt shop was a blast. Shop is a big word, It was the back room of this sweet little woman’s house. She sold the quilts for other people. Most of them were on the top of a chest freezer. She had them stacked in two or three rooms and just let us wander in and look around. I didn’t have the cash on me for one, but when I go back…

Also, liked the Road picture that guided my eyes to the farmland ahead, sky just beautiful view. I’m a retired school teacher so it was neat to see the school too. Thanks Amy!
